I hope that by reading this article you can understand how much of an influence these scientists have on our everyday life. One of my favourite quotes is by Nikola Tesla "the scientific man does not aim at immediate results, he does not expect his ideas will rapidly be taken up, his work is like that planter for the future. His duty is to lay the foundation for those who are to  come and  point the way".  Scientists have done great things, but it is not only there IQ's it is there imagination which allows them to make a thought into reality.
