Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and microbiologist. He was born December 27,1822 and died September 28,1895. He contributed greatly towards the advancement of medical sciences, developing cures for rabies, anthrax and other infectious diseases. He also invented the process of pasteurization to make milk safer to drink. He is known for his discoveries of the principals of vaccinations and is remembered for his breakthroughs in the causes and prevention of diseases. His medical discoveries provided direct support for the germ theory of diseases. I selected Louis Pasteur because his invention saved countless lives. He probably saved more lives than anyone. Louis furthered the germ theory allowing scientists to understand it better!
